The Art of Transformation
A deep and artful inquiry into the nature of human transformation.
And conditions by which we might occasion its unfolding.

We have arrived at a moment in history—a threat, perhaps, to our very survival—that is asking of humanity something that has not been, as yet, asked of us: to not only rethink the structures and systems by which we manage ourselves materially—but to reimagine ourselves as conscious beings.
To reconstitute what it means to be human.
Third… it poses a manner of posing by which that understanding can both reveal itself and, in that very revealing, transform itself.
It puts forward a ‘methodology’--founded upon a highly deliberate mode of dialogical inquiry—by which our current understanding gets disclosed.
Through the skillful unfolding of a body of linguistic distinctions and actions—within deliberately constituted social settings—conditions are brought about that give rise to moments of deep insight.
Insights that are not merely aligned with an already known way of ‘knowing’. But, rather, insights that reveal the often-surprising nature of reality and of our own way of being as human beings—the revealing of which allow for actionable access to the very source of our thinking and our action.
There is an art and a science to such a manner of posing. .
The Art of Transformation unfolds an investigation into the nature of human being. It weaves together three essential threads.
First… it evokes a reflective meditation on the current historical moment, arguably a threshold moment in the history of humanity. What is the nature of its origin—its ontological essence—as embodied in the ideas, thinking, and beliefs that fulfill their projective force in all that we do, think, and are.
Second… it poses the question of how we need to be and to think as human beings if we are to act collectively with intelligent and purposive response to that which the current moment calls for.
Such a manner of response, however, presupposes that we have a way to disclose that with which we are most intimately identified: the very nature of our understanding of ourselves and of the world.
An understanding which—in its very intimacy and in its very familiarity—remains ever beyond our grasp, beyond our very awareness. And yet, unseen and hence inaccessible as it is, it is that very understanding that has gotten us to where we are in the first place.
As such, we inhabit a world largely unseen, and it is our own unseeing that must be everted (“turned inside out”) if we are to respond wholly and effectively to that which the current moment most urgently puts before us.
It is the deep study of, and encounter with, this art and this science, which is the primary work taken by this investigation.
There are two avenues by which one may move into this investigation and dialog….
The Immersion
A 10-month cohort gathering and a deep dive into the disclosure of the nature of that understanding which gives who and what we are as human beings. And to invent a human technology for its transformation. A course for serious change artists.
In addition, I will be leading a live on-line orientation on January 13. (To be kept abreast of that, sign up on my Substack.)
Whichever avenue you take, I welcome you. Your listening and participation in the investigation is key to its unfolding, to its destiny.
The Substack
A substack that traces essential contours that emanate from this investigation, and the many forms of public inquiry (texts, videos announcements) which that investigation will inevitably energize.
