The Art of Transformation
Awakening our capacity for deep transformative agency and impact.
In this investigation, we inquire deeply, and artfully, into the question
“What is the nature of transformation and what is the manner of unfolding by which it might be deliberately activated with others?”
Here, however, the question is not asked from a place of dry, speculative abstraction, or as a disembodied intellectual study.
Rather, it is asked in a manner of posing: A posing in which both the manner of the posing and the manner of the one posing, are subject to the question—in which both become the object of the inquiry.
Such a manner of posing becomes a form of unconcealing. An unconcealing of the inherited—and otherwise hidden—understanding of what it is to be human. And in that unconcealing, the who and what we have come to know of ourselves as human beings (necessarily) comes unraveled.
In this unravelling, the investigation takes up the honorable tradition of socratic and liberatory philosophy—whose aim it has always been to liberate ourselves and others.
Not from others. Not from the constraints put upon us by the world ‘out there’. But from the limitations embodied in that which we are, inside our inherited understanding of what it is to be human.
This investigation will engage us, at once, as a mode of ontological inquiry and of epistemological deconstruction.
A mode of engagement whose aim is to gradually peel away the layers of acquired and encultured understanding that limit our ability to see beyond the options it yields.
A mode of engagement whose primary catalyzing agent activates itself through deliberate acts of linguistic disruption, and energizes itself within the field of intentional modes social interaction and collective realization.
A mode of engagement that, in its disruptive force and deliberate manner of social interaction, promises to bring about a re-orientation.
To catalyze a new understanding of what it is to be human, and the options for action and impact which such a new understanding might yield.
I invite you to step into this investigation.
There are many ways in which you might do so—from thought-provoking reading to deep immersion.
The Immersion
A 10-month cohort gathering and a deep dive into the disclosure of the nature of that understanding which gives who and what we are as human beings. And to invent a human technology for its transformation. A course for serious change artists.
In addition, I will be leading a live on-line orientation on January 20. Learn more and sign up here.
However way you step into this investigation, I welcome you. Your listening and participation in the investigation is key to its unfolding, to its destiny.
The Substack
A substack that traces essential contours that emanate from this investigation, and the many forms of public inquiry (texts, videos announcements) which that investigation will inevitably energize.
